Children's Book: Page Alterations

 

I think this spot illustration looks so much better than the previous one. It looks brighter and exciting. 

Here's a full page illustration I started doing for a pivotal point in the story. It's when Tan returns home and sees that there's nothing left. I don't like how this is turning out. The colour of the ground against Tan's fur is distracting and the tree trunks look odd. 

Here's another illustration for my book. Again, it is so much better than the previous one I made. You can tell that as I have carried on with the story, I have realised how I like to draw Tan and his Mama. However, the background is a little too blue for the spot illustration so, I will lighten it up slighter.

Although it's a small change, it has made a lot of difference and the illustrations look so much better as a group. 

Here's a side by side comparison of what the original illustrations looked like, compared to the current illustrations. As you can see it has improved greatly.
