Because the blue versions of Medusa and Perseus blend in to too much with the green background. I decided to changed it to purple and keep the original black and gold version of Medusa and Perseus. I think that against the purple they really standout. Because they looked so effective I wanted the change the illustrations next to the signs to black and gold too.
At first, when changing the smaller illustrations, I decided to leave the flames blue and purple. However, I didn't think this went and I wanted to change it further.
I think that by making the flames yellow, the illustrations look so effective against the purple. And they stand out even more.
